Escape to the Wee Red Cabin. Richardson Lake, Quebec.
Rustic cabin turned cozy haven.
Wee but comfortable. Everything you need but nothing you don’t.
Activities for the whole family to enjoy. Yes, even in the winter.
Winter activities
In addition to the 90+km of hiking trails, enjoy local fat-biking, snowshoeing, skating on the frozen lake and some darn fine snowman making. Local winter attractions abound. We’re also snowmobile-friendly, although you’ll have to bring your own.
Swimming
Hop in the lake from our private dock, or walk to a small gravel beach at the edge of the property, which has a nice gradual entry. Perfect for a family swim.
Water Sports
Our cabin might be wee, but we’ve managed to tuck away two paddleboards, two kayaks, a canoe (and paddles!), and life jackets for you to enjoy during your stay.
Fishing
Richardson is a catch-and-release lake, with bluegills chilling off the dock, and bass and pike further into the lake. The middle of the lake is 130ft, deep enough for the Loch Ness monster!
Cycling and Hiking
There are a number of trails in the area, including the Cycloparc PPJ Shawville-Campbell Bay Trunk, great for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing.
Shopping
It's about a 10-minute drive into Shawville, where you’ll find some small boutiques, liquor store, a great bakery (like, REALLY great!), restaurants and food trucks.
